Interpreting
Simultaneous Interpreting
In simultaneous interpreting, a speaker speaks into a microphone, the interpreter listens to the speech in his/her headphones and translates it into a microphone almost simultaneously (almost at the same time). Two interpreters generally do simultaneous interpreting and take turns after half an hour.
Consecutive Interpreting
In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter sits with the participants at the meeting, workshop, seminar ... and listens to the speech, translating it then in another language. It is the interpretation in the blocks after the speaker finished speaking, while the interpreter can usually make notes while listening.
Accompanying Interpreting
In accompanying interpreting, the interpreting takes place when accompanying through the company, shop, at a business lunch, at fairs, exhibitions...
Interpreting Over the Phone
Interpreting over the phone is essentially consecutive interpreting, when the interpreter mediates a communication between the client and a person on the other side of the phone.
